People on the Move
A big hire at a major trade association, staffer moves, new comms folks, and awards
Great to see so many of you at the Texas
Summit on Immigration in H-Town yesterday. Business leaders and
politicos are pushing forward with discussions about a vexing issue even when
the current environment surrounding it is just toxic.
You never know what will come up.
For example, it was pointed out to retiring Rep.
Will Hurd that the Vice Chairman at the Texas Public Policy Foundation
Tim Dunn has for years funded campaigns against rational Republicans,
slamming them as “too soft on illegal immigration.” Hurd had mentioned TPPF as
a possible ally on immigration and seemed unaware that some of their board members
have been working strenuously against the congressman’s position.
We’re here to help. Rep. Hurd was quite articulate,
by the way, about the problem of third-party entities in Washington acting as
enforcers with GOP members.
Meantime, many of you have been movin’ and shakin’ during this
week, sending your career news along. You can always let us know what’s
happening with yourself – or a friend or foe – by sending the scoop to email@example.com and using POTM in
the subject line. Thanks so much.
