Rep. Ron Reynolds turns himself in to jail, will likely be there when session begins

"Rep. Reynolds’ attorney is still working on various legal challenges and he is confident that his misdemeanor conviction will be overturned,” per a statement from his office

Rep. Ron Reynolds, D-Missouri City, on Friday said that he “voluntarily” revoked his appeals bond and turned himself in to start serving his sentence in Montgomery County following a misdemeanor conviction of illegally soliciting clients for his personal injury law practice. As you’re no doubt aware, Rep. Reynolds was convicted of multiple misdemeanors in the case.

Despite the fact that the sentence is a year long, Reynolds office said that the nevertheless hopes to be ready to serve in the next session.
