Gun control advocates say domestic violence is common thread in recent mass shootings
Slightly more than half the mass shootings that happened between 2009 and 2016 had a relationship to domestic violence
The tie between domestic violence and the Sutherland Springs
church shooting is not an isolated linkage in Texas, domestic violence
advocates said this morning.
A number of people, speaking on
behalf of local shelters, joined Democrats at a morning press conference in
which lawmakers called on colleagues to stop talking and start acting on gun
violence. Rep. Nicole Collier,
D-Fort Worth, labeled the recent crimes a public health issue.
